Designed as a commemoration to the 25th anniversary of the first nonstop balloon flight around the world, aboard Breitling’s Orbiter 3. Landing in the Egyptian desert, the Breitling Orbiter 3 journey covered 45,633 km in 19 days, 21 hours, and 47 minutes, with pilot’s wearing the Emergency E76321 watch to assist in their mission. Now, twenty-five years after Orbiter 3 circled our planet, the introduction of a brand new design within the Breitling brand. The successor to Breitling’s Aerospace Evo – the Breitling Aerospace B70 Orbiter 43mm. A taste of history, while aligning more with Breitling’s Professional collection. This bold design pays homage to the Breitling Orbiter 3 journey. Promoting only subtle contemporary changes to the Emergency E76321 watch worn for the journey itself.
Breitling Aerospace B70 Orbiter 43mm Features
A special edition design, and part of the commemorative capsule collection. A beautiful piece for an avid traveller, or effortless to appreciate as an addition to anyone’s collection. With orange being the designated colour of the mission, the watch features a seductive smoky orange dial, with a bright centre fading into a black hue edging. A metallic finish with horizontal brushing further adds a captivating and striking finish to the dial. Further features of the dial including a 1/100th of a second chronograph (with split-time and lap time), countdown timer, second time zone, two alarms, and perpetual calendar. The dial is further complimented by a subtle bezel, which is featured in lightweight aluminium and has bidirectional, ratcheting features, and a 43mm case.
Although the Aerospace B70 Orbiter Watch comes in two iterations, this specific configuration comes on a 22mm-wide three-row bracelet with slanted centre links and in lightweight titanium.
The back of the watch truly is mesmerising, whether an avid collector or first time customer. The Breitling Orbiter 3 mission logo is Boldy featured around the perimeter back casing, but this isn’t the only reference to the world first trip – but a piece of the original balloon is displayed within the back casing, making this piece a sensation in it’s own right.
